Dealers come in all shapes and forms, from small sole-traders to powerhouse galleries. Both play an integral role in the art and antiques market.
They often specialise in a given fields such as jewellery, ceramics, paintings, Asian art or coins but there are also plenty of general dealers operate across different categories.

De Heem returns home via Van Haeften

The deal, just announced, caps almost a year of the stamp and coin specialists spreading their influence through the wider art and antiques world following their acquisition of Noble Investments last November.

The Young Guns shortlist is revealed
09 June 2014The shortlist for this year’s Antiques Young Gun of the Year has been unveiled. The winner will be revealed at the awards party on July 4, hosted by Bennie Gray at Alfies Antiques in London. Founded last year by Gail McLeod, George Johnson and Mark Hill, the award is open to anyone working in the business aged 39 or under.
Petworth centre picked up by new owners
28 May 2014After a period of some 40 years in single ownership, Petworth Antique Centre in the antiques-rich town of Petworth in West Sussex has been bought by an investment company, Palladian Property Investment Limited, based in London.
