Railtons

Railtons are an auction house based in Wooler, Northumberland. The company was established by Jim Railton in 1993 and they moved to their current premises in 2010.

Railtons hold quarterly auctions of fine art and antiques together with estate sales across the year, covering all areas of antiques and collectables.

THE Northumberland auctioneer Jim Railton who was charged with offering and advertising 54 wild birds’ eggs for sale, has now been fined £1000 plus costs at Alnwick Magistrates Court.

LATE, but interesting news arrives from Northumberland in the form of this 18th century bracket clock, right, by Horseman and Quare, which emerged from a Northumbrian farmhouse to be the star of the sale held by Jim Railton (15% buyer’s premium) at Newcastle Racecourse on July 13.
