Johnny Van Haeften

The Old Master dealer Johnny Van Haeften set up his gallery in 1977 and specialising in Dutch and Flemish paintings from the 16th and 17th centuries. In January 2017 he moved the business to a premises next to his home in south west London, closing his gallery on Duke Street in St James's.

He is a member of SLAD and BADA and was one of the founders of the annual TEFAF fair in Maastricht.

De Heem returns home via Van Haeften

This still life by Dutch artist Cornelis de Heem (1631-95) has been returned to its historical home, The National Trust’s Dyrham Park in Gloucestershire. The painting was bought through London dealer Johnny Van Haeften for £574,000.

London dealer bids record sum for Francken in Austria

SPEAKING to ATG at the end of last week, London Old Master dealer Johnny Van Haeften still had not actually seen the monumental painting by Frans Francken II (1581-1642) for which he paid 6.1m euros (£5.65m) at Dorotheum’s Old Master sale in Vienna on April 21.
