The sale, which will also include a large quantity of timber that would be useful in restoration work, is the result of owner Mark Groes’ decision to retire after 14 years selling church fittings from Pew Corner on the Old Portsmouth Road outside Guildford.
His decision has been further prompted by the rise in property values – he now believes that it would make more sense to lease the site out.
As well as the architectural antiques and associated pieces, the sale will offer equipment such as a forklift truck, and a portable office.
Viewing takes place on Friday, February 27 from 10am-6pm and on the sale day from 8am. A full catalogue can be downloaded free from www.wellers-auctions.co.uk under Special Auctions.
Church sale bonanza as Pew Corner closes
