In the original green cloth binding, the copy offered by Lays of Penzance on August 10 was sold for £2600.
Printed at the Newlyn Press c.1912, The Merry Maidens is the magazine of Penzance Church of England High School and was the O.G. [Old Girls?] Club, and as such unlikely to cause much of a stir, but it contains original woodblock illustrations by Charles Simpson, plus a separate lithograph by Laura Knight. In Penzance the copy seen bottom right made £350.
