Kensington Church Street, King’s Road and Fulham Road will all come under the new zone that will incur a penalty of £5 during week days. Olympia will be just outside the proposed congestion charging area, designed to ease traffic problems in the area by up to 20 per cent.
Leaflets discussing the proposal and inviting Londoners to comment upon it have recently been published and are available from 0800 106062. Completed questionnaires should be returned to Transport for London no later than Friday April 23.
Congestion zone proposal
TRANSPORT for London have begun the first stage of a public consultation on the proposal to effectively double the area of coverage of the London congestion charging system. The proposal suggests extending the current zone westwards from Park Lane to include most of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster where many of the city’s art and antique dealers are based.
