The symposium will include the director of the Hermitage Museum of St Petersburg, the director of the Commission for art Recovery at the World Jewish Congress in New York, university professors from Milan (speaking on the general principles and international conventions) and Zurich (private international law issues) and Professor Norman Palmer, of University College, London (the experience of English museums) among others.
There will be specific sessions on the situations in the United States, France and Switzerland.
Law day on looted art
THE Art-Law Centre of Switzerland is holding an international symposium, entitled Claims for the Restitution of Looted Art, at the Museum of Art and History in Geneva on November 10.
